The position of the Sikosinyana Sub-Khuta is clear: our allegiance remains with His Royal Highness Litunga George Simasiku Mamili, under whose traditional leadership Sikosinyana has historically recognised its authority and identity.

For generations, the Sikosinyana Sub-Khuta has maintained its historical association with the leadership of Litunga Mamili. This allegiance is not a matter to be casually redefined by outside parties, or through statements made without the knowledge, consultation and consent of the leadership and members of Sikosinyana.

Our traditional identity, history and allegiance are matters of great importance to our people. They must be respected and protected against misrepresentation.

The Sikosinyana Sub-Khuta calls upon the Mashi Traditional Authority to refrain from associating Sikosinyana with its traditional structures or claims without a clear and mutually recognised basis for doing so.

On my own behalf and on behalf of my people, I am concerned about any attempt to portray Sikosinyana as belonging to, or having pledged allegiance to, another traditional authority without proper consultation and an agreed position from our recognised leadership.

Traditional matters require consultation and honesty. No community should be represented as having changed its allegiance merely because another party wishes to associate itself with that community.

The Mashi Traditional Authority is therefore urged to respect the identity, historical ties and stated position of the Sikosinyana Sub-Khuta, and to avoid statements or actions that could create confusion, misunderstanding or unnecessary tension among our people.

This clarification is not intended to create hostility between traditional authorities or communities. It is meant to protect the identity of Sikosinyana, prevent misunderstandings and promote peaceful relations based on mutual respect.

We believe that traditional leadership should be guided by consultation, historical understanding and respect for the identity of every community. Where disagreements arise, they should be addressed through proper traditional channels rather than through public claims that may misrepresent the position of the people concerned.

The Sikosinyana Sub-Khuta remains committed to preserving its heritage, maintaining its traditional identity and respecting the leadership under which it recognises its allegiance.

Our position is unequivocal: the Sikosinyana Sub-Khuta recognises its historical allegiance to Litunga George Simasiku Mamili of the Mafwe Royal Establishment, and not to Chief Joseph Tembwe Mayuni of the Mashi Traditional Authority, as suggested during the just-ended Tulikonge Festival. Any contrary claim should not be attributed to Sikosinyana without proper verification and confirmation from its recognised leadership.
