According to the concerned Rally for Democracy and Progress, Regional Secretary Mr. Lister Sabuta

“I’m here to inform the nation about Bukalo Village Council which was recently proclaimed as a village council, our candidates are being intimidated and even ECN officials are supporting the SWAPO party. Our candidates who are residents of this village council were told not to involve themselves with us as this will lead them to trouble” explained Mr. Sabuta.

He added that, his party reported the matter to the ECN, Returning Officer Mr. Alfred Mbukusa but all to no avail “We reported the matter to him on this issue of intimidating party candidates, he said there is nothing he can do” he explained.

“Why is Comrade Charles Siyauya, a SWAPO Party candidate contesting in this election at Bukalo Village Council while he is not a resident of that village council, he is just having a construction company in that area, we need to know what is so special about him?” asked Mr. Mabuta.

However, Mr. Mbukusa declined to comment as he was on his way to Windhoek at the time of going for press.
