A Katima Mulilo taxi driver Sonny Mbeha who arraigned for the murder of his estranged girlfriend Monde Mbolelwa, before the town’s Magistrate Court now has legal representation.
Mbeha who is dubbed the ‘Valentines Murderer’, made an appearance before Magistrate Nelao Brown who was told that Mr. Van Vuuren of Van Vuuren legal practitioners are the defence lawyers in the matter, when it was heard on May 29.
The matter was postponed to end of this month for further investigation after Mbeha’s defence lawyer failed to show-up at court on the same day. Mbeha was remanded back into police custody.
Mbeha, who is charged with two counts of attempted murder and murder, allegedly killed Mbolelwa, who was a clothing store attendant, in cold blood after stabbing her several times to death in her NHE home on February 14.
It is alleged that a quarrel broke out between the couple during the wee hours of the night, when Mbeha demanded to know of Mbolelwa’s whereabouts during the fate day, before her body was found in a pool of blood with deep wound inflicted to it.
The relationship between Mbeha and Mbololwa, as described by family and friends was allegedly rocky and abusive. They claimed that late last year a in a jealous feud, Mbeha came close to shooting Mbolelwa admits the physical abusive she suffered at his hands.
Mbeha allegedly attempted to kill Mbololwa after he drove her into the bushy outskirts of the town and fired gun shots aimed at her. Mbolelwa however withdrew the charges she lodged with Nampol and requested he be removing the home they shared.
