Daniel made the announcement on Tuesday during an ongoing one-on-one engagement with the Prime Minister. She said the Ministry intends to assess the project’s current status and determine the steps needed to bring it back to life.
She explained that a team has been dispatched to the Zambezi Region to carry out an on-site assessment. Its findings will guide the Ministry in charting the way forward and identifying the interventions required.

The revival is expected to renew the project’s original vision and ensure the investment serves its intended purpose, while contributing to tourism development and economic activity in the region.
Welcoming the development, Prime Minister Ngurare voiced his support and urged all relevant stakeholders to work together to complete the project and make it operational. He stressed accountability, effective coordination and timely implementation of government-funded projects.
Ngurare, who is well versed in the project, revealed during the meeting that more than N$200 million has been spent on it so far. He emphasised that public resources must translate into tangible benefits for the people, and warned against government investments sitting idle for years without delivering results.
“Every penny that we commit as Government must yield results within the intended time,” said Ngurare.
