UNAM PEER EDUCATORS DONATE TO CHARITY

Peer Educators of the University of Namibia’s Katima Mulilo Campus recently ploughed back to the community by donating to charity.

The lucky charity organisation was Buikezezo Charity Organisation which received donations such as clothes which were sown and embroided by embroidery students of the Zambezi Vocational Training Centre (ZVTC) and a cheque of N$400.00 which had been raised by the dedicated peer educators of the University of Namibia.

 Mr. Russell Liyemo, the Peer Educator President had  delivered few the message of inspiration to the 87 Orphaned children who were the recipients of the donations, “We as peer educators went out in the town and community asking for help and assistance in helping vulnerable children that is how we managed to raise the N$400.00”.

Mr. Liyemo took the opportunity to urge the young orphans to work hard and take their education seriously.

The Meat Board of Namibia donated about 89 lunch packs and beverages to the children and made a pledge to assist the children where ever they could.

At the attendence were the Deputy Katima Mulilo Mayor Ms. Georgina Mwiya, Katima Mulilo UNAM Campus Director Dr. Bernett Kangumu, ZVTC Head Mr. B Kambinda, Ms. Sylvia Mahoto Student Counsellor for Katima Mulilo UNAM Campus and Ms. Karen Mubonenwa,Katima Unam Campus Marketing Officer.
