A tripartite meeting on Botswana – Namibia 2018 Boundary Treaty has been cancelled until further notice.
The meeting was slated for Wednesday April 21, and was postponed to an unknown date, this was confirmed by Zambezi Regional Governor Hon. Lawrence Alfea Sampofu.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah was one of the keynote speakers to address the meeting among others.
However, Zambezi Governor refused to divulge to this paper on the theme of the meeting.
The Caprivi Vision has established that the tripartite meeting were to come, and inform the residents of the region about the 2018 Boundary Treaty between the Republic of Botswana and the Republic of Namibia on the issue of international boundaries.
Privy sources have confirmed that the Namibian Surveyor General, held a closed-door meeting with the traditional leaders on Monday.
The areas that are likely to be affected of this delimitation and demarcation of Botswana-Namibia boundary will be along the Kwando western part of Caprivi / Zambezi, Linyanti in the South and Chobe River in the east of Katima Mulilo.
