SWAPO Returns Kabbe South Constituency

Newly Elected Councillor for Kabbe South Constituency , Hon. Raymond Kamwi Sezuni

IN the just ended By-Elections held on Tuesday June 17, the ruling SWAPO Party of Namibia has returned its stronghold Kabbe South Constituency with its candidate Mr. Raymond Kamwi Sezuni scoring 1 356 votes, against Mr. Sydney Sitali Shamwazi, of the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) , an official opposition party in Namibia who secured 203 votes.

About 3,509 people were registered to vote, and 1,564 voters tendered their votes, and 1,559 votes were counted while five (5) ballot papers were rejected.

Mr. Sezuni is a retired electronic engineer and livestock farmer, who succeeded Honourable John Likando, now a law maker in the National Assembly of Namibia.

However, the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) announced that the following candidates from the respective constituencies around the country were declared as winners:

1. Otjiwarongo – Paulus Kandina NEKUNDI (SWAPO Party)

2. Kamanjab – Nikodemus AMUTENYA (SWAPO Party)

3. Grootfontein – Nelao Delemine AMAGULU (SWAPO Party)

4. Sesfontein – Uitani Bernadus //HOEB (UDF)

5. Kabbe South – Raymond Kamwi SEZUNI (SWAPO Party).

The Chairperson for the Electoral Commission of Namibia, Dr. Elsie Nghikembua expressed her thankfulness that “On behalf of the commission I would like to thank all voters, who casted their votes on 17 June 2025 fopr exercising their democratic rights”
