Street vendor dies at Metro Mega

A-48-years old Namibian citizen Ms. Judith Limbo Mundia , who was a street vendor at Katima Mulilo collapsed and died instantly on front of Metro Mega on Monday, August 15, 2022.

This unfortunate incidence happened when the Katima Mulilo Town Council cracked down on street vendors around the town of Katima.

It is alleged that the deceased got stressed as she was worried of study fees for her child, and was vending to raise money to pay tuition fees for her child at the University of  Namibia (UNAM), Katima Campus.

The Namibian police spokesperson in Zambezi region , Inspector Kisco Sitali confirmed the incidence to Caprivi Vision that the deceased who used to sell her items at the front door of Metro Mega Wholesale in Katima Mulilo died while she was seated on her vending spot, and was rushed to Katima State hospital where she was declared dead by the medical doctor.

The next of kin have been so far informed, and an autopsy to determine the cause of death was taken on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.

Police investigations in the mater continue.
