President Nandi-Ndaitwah fires Hengari as Agriculture minister

Namibian President, Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwa has relieved Hon. Dr. Mac-Albert Hengari from his duties as Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform on Sunday.

This came shortly after Hengari was arrested by the Namibian Police on Saturday night when he was found on spot, bribing the woman with an amount of N$230,000 who accused him for rape.

By virtue of the powers vested in the President by Article 32(6) of the Constitution of the Republic of Namibia, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has relieved Hon. Dr. Mac-Albert Hengari of his duties as Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform.

“The termination of tenure takes effect from Wednesday, 23 April 2025 when Hon. Dr. Mac-Albert Hengari should have tendered his resignation. Hon. Hengari has also been withdrawn from the National Assembly.” Said the statement.

Former minister Hengari, has been the shortest serving minister in the history. He was one of the eight nominees of President Nandi-Ndaitwah to the National Assembly in March this year.
