The Namibian President, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed Mr Jonas Mbambo to the position of Press Secretary and Spokesperson of the Presidency.
The appointment follows the End of Tenure of Dr Alfredo Hengari, who was appointed by late former president Dr.Hage Geingob.
The appointment is effective 1 August 2025. Mr Mbambo is a seasoned media professional and a holder of a law degree from the People’s University Friendship University in Moscow. With strong analytical skills and knowledge of the political landscape, Mr Mbambo brings to the Presidency wealth of knowledge gained in media and specifically broadcasting journalism.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah has confidence in the ability of Mr Mbambo to carry out his duties with success.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah extends appreciation to Dr Hengari for his dedicated years of service during his tenure as Press Secretary and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
