PM Ngurare Reaffirms Govt’s decisions inspired by youth

By Staff Reporter

The Namibian Prime Minister, Dr. Elijah Ngurare has reaffirmed that the Government’s decisions are inspired by the aspirations of the youth , and are geared towards improving the lives and future of young Namibians.

Dr Ngurare made a clarion call during a courtesy visit by learners from People’s Primary School in Katutura on Friday , He was  responding to a question of learners which asked him what inspires the Government’s day-to-day decision-making.

He however stated that the 8th Administration is guided by clearly defined priorities under the Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6) and should be assessed based on its success in implementing and delivering on those objectives.

Prime Minister emphasised that the Government places great confidence in the country’s younger generation. It is for this reason, he noted, that the Government introduced free education to ensure that every Namibian child has equitable access to quality education, irrespective of ethnicity, religion, or socio-economic background.

During the engagement, the learners also raised concerns about a damaged sewer system at their school, which they said has remained unrepaired for more than five years. They explained that the situation has adversely affected the learning environment and, at times, posed a significant health risk to learners, teachers, and the surrounding community.

In response, Prime Minister Dr. Ngurare assured the learners that he would personally visit the school to assess the situation.

He further acknowledged that the matter should not have remained unresolved for such an extended period and committed to ensuring that the necessary interventions are undertaken to address the problem.
