On Monday, managers from the Office of the Prime Minister, led by Executive Director, Ms. Gladice Pickering, gathered at Little Jamaica near Windhoek to strengthen resilience, psychological safety, and strategic leadership through facilitated team-building sessions.
The event brought together senior managers for a full-day engagement designed to enhance teamwork, promote people-centred leadership, and align managerial practices with the strategic mandate of the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM).
Through interactive activities and guided discussions, participants explored practical ways to foster trust, build competence, and respond effectively to workplace challenges.
Life coaches and motivational speakers, Ms Hermien Elago and Mr Anthony Williams Euchab, facilitated dynamic and high-energy leadership sessions, encouraging managers to reflect on personal growth, emotional intelligence, and effective communication. The facilitators challenged participants to move beyond routine supervision and adopt transformative leadership approaches that inspire performance and institutional impact.
Managers actively shared experiences, identified leadership gaps, and committed to implementing strategies that promote psychological safety, accountability, and innovation within their respective departments. The session also emphasised collaboration and adaptability.
Resilience was also emphasised as a critical driver for organisational success.

In conclusion, the “Rise and Lead” team-building session reaffirmed OPM’s commitment to nurturing capable, motivated, and visionary leaders who are equipped to strengthen institutional effectiveness and deliver meaningful public service outcomes.
