NDP pays tribute to Chief of Ovahereo

NDP mourns the untimely Death of the Ovaherero Paramount Chief and the Leader of The National Unity Democratic Organization of Namibia (NUDO) the late Kuaima Riruako.

On behalf of the National Democratic Party (NDP) the Voiceless, the poor, the social group, the oppressed group and the disadvantaged groups with the power invested in me by the NDP Federal Constitution.

Paramount Chief of Ovaherero and Leader of (NUDO) late Kuaima Riruako.
Paramount Chief of Ovaherero and Leader of (NUDO) late Kuaima Riruako.

I hereby express our Heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family of the late Paramount Chief of the Ovaherero Traditional Council, The Ovaherero Ethnical Groups who are scanted in the Herero Lands of Namibia, in the entire corner of Namibia.

The Ovahereros fled the former South West Africa/Namibia in exile in Botswana due to the Genocide which was carried out by The Germans, who slaughtered both the Ovaherero and Nama Communities.

I was shocked to hear about the untimely death of the Great Leader who fought for the Ovaherero and Namas ethnical groups for their slaughter by the Germans, unfortunately Paramount Chief Kuaima Riruako has succeeded in his fight for the Germans government to pay for the genocide which has affected to the Ovaherero and Nama ethnic groups.

Now the time has come for the German government to pay the Ovaherero and the Namas.

I have heard of the Paramount Chief Kuaima Riruako as early as 1960 before he was crowned as leader of the Ovaherero community and way before Namibia’s independence in 1990.

After the assassination of the late Ovaherero Paramount Chief Clemence Kapuuo by unknown terrorist group in 1978 and the subsequent taking over of the chieftainship by Paramount Chief Kuaima Riruako, I got to know more and more of him.

As a police officer at the time, I was one of the police officers sent and assigned to Windhoek to maintain law and order in Katutura and to save the lives of the Namibians and their properties. Since that we were able to meet orphans as we were tasked with protecting traditional leaders as well as the entire nation.

I have known him as a kind man, social, he was open to everybody. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

The NDP wishes to inform the bereaved family that the party is mourning with them and we are with them in these hard times.

May his soul rest in peace,

Mr. Martin Lukato Lukato

NDP National President
