In the just ended weekend tournament of 29-30 October 2022, the three Windhoek based bowling clubs battled to win gold, silver and bronze medals, as well as being placed as the overall winning club for the tournament.
After a full weekend of tight games, the Windhoek League Grand Final Results were as follows gold medal was awarded to Mr. Waylon Wentzel, Huipie van Wyk of TNBC, Silver to Mr. Johan Jacobs, Christo Steenkamp (TNBC) and lastly bronze medal to Mr. Willie Esterhuizen, Antoniette du Ploy also of TNBC.
Gold – Desmond vd Smit, Mike Rumsey, Karl Hartman (WBC)
Silver – John Hawthorne, Innis Louw, Poppie van den Heuvel (EBC)
Bronze – Schalk van Wyk, Christo Steenkamp, Antoinette du Ploy (TNBC)
Gold – AnjuleenViljeon, Waylon Wentzel, Henriette Partridge, Chris du Preez (TNBC)
Silver – Willie Esterhuizen, Piet du Ploy/Claude Thorburn Snr, Elme van Eden, Marinda Bezuidenhout (TNBC)
Bronze – Desmond vd Smit, Renette de Kock Mike Wells, Christo Brand (WBC)

Over the years, the sport of Lawn Bowls in Namibia has grown to include a diverse and vibrant group, from very young to more mature people. All passionate about bowling and participating in this interesting sport, open to newcomers in Windhoek, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and Tsumeb.

Bowls is a comparatively simple sport to play, yet dynamic and exciting.
All the clubs would welcome new members and would relish introducing Namibians from all backgrounds and ages to the game.
