Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) , has unveiled the official portrait of the 5th President of the Republic of Namibia , Her Excellency Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on Tuesday.
Namibia is set to have its first-ever Female President who is to be sworn in on Friday March 21, 2025.
Namibia will also turn 35 years old , after having its own independence birthday on 21 March 1990.
The Ministry has also announced that the official portrait of the incoming president will be available at the Namibia Press Agency (NAMPA) for sale .
MICT Minister , Emma Theofelus warned that “ there will be no individual production of the presidential portrait , printing of the portraits will be strictly controlled to avoid duplication, and all copyright shall reside with the MICT”
Theofelus added that the State Finance Act (Act No.21 of 1991), in March 2024 granted authorization to MICT to transfer responsibility of production and distribution of portraits to NAMPA.

The A2 framed portrait costs N$1800 as directed by Treasury in 2024 and schools can acquire unframed portrait at N$500 each.
