Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industries , Mines and Energy , Hon. Natangue Ithete

Namibia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industries , Mines and Energy , Hon. Natangue Ithete urged global leaders, investors, and industry players at the Global Africa Hydrogen Summit to transform promises into tangible actions for citizens’ benefit.

Speaking at the opening session on Wednesday, Hon. Ithete stressed that green industrialisation offers Namibia a pathway to dignity, jobs, and empowerment while reducing dependence on raw material exports.

He emphasised that flagship green hydrogen projects, including Hyphen, Daures, Oshivela HyIron, and Cleanergy Solutions, must directly improve the lives of Namibians through job creation, skills development, and energy security.

He further challenged delegates to commit to measurable goals that could be reported at future gatherings. Namibia’s National Development Plan 6 and ESG principles were cited as guiding policies, but Mr. Ithete insisted that true success must be seen in citizens’ livelihoods.

The summit set the stage for collective accountability, urging leaders and investors to align vision with action.

Namibia pledged to lead Africa’s green industrial revolution by ensuring green hydrogen projects deliver real impact, progress, and prosperity for its people.
