A Local entrepreneur and owner of CKP in Katima Mulilo , Mr. Cletius Mushaukwa has encouraged Triumphant College Students to start involving themselves in entrepreneurship and culture.
He delivered his motivational speech at the just ended Entrepreneurship and Cultural Festival hosted by Triumphant College, which was held on Thursday.
Mr. Mushaukwa , the owner of Creativity is a Key to Perfection (C.K.P) Trading Enterprise in Zambezi region was invited as one of the guest speakers at the event, where he urged young students of Triumphant College and UNAM Cultural Group that culture is the idea which forms up social behaviour for the particular people of the society , and ideas which a certain group follows.
He addressed the importance of cultural heritage which is aimed to shape identity and unity among the society, and this include traditional attires used by each cultural group to symbolise the inherited culture from their forefathers.
“I love playing Spinny and the Green Kids’ music because he sings traditional songs using a creative way of applying music instrumentals to add values to the song “he stressed.
He added that cultural heritage is a concept which offers a bridge between the past and the future , where people must link their past to the future and this can happen when young talented people use the drums and some modern music instrumentals to sing songs.
“There are a lot of good things in our culture but many people have abandoned this culture and started following the European culture” he explained.
As a business man , Mr Mushaukwa talked much on the importance of having a business where he said a lot of people from Zambezi region have certain negative believes about starting a business saying they are not self-motivated and when one becomes successful in the business they will call him/her with bad names which can at last destroy the business’ reputation.
He however pointed out that sometimes people need to be in a group to manage some problems but also self-reliance is required because many of the times people made wrong decisions because of the pressure from friends. For this reason, young people must not be limited to think outside the box and find more advices from experienced people.
“When I started CKP business , people told me that am getting mad and I will never make it in business because I left my job but I feel am now working and getting busy than what I was doing in office” he recalled.
He further encouraged all young people and everyone who was present at the event saying that people should start experiencing new ideas which will force them to go that extra mile and push boundaries without any fear of unsuccessful people who are trying to stop them from sucking , and he said to be in a business people are required to work extra hard to achieve their goals.
