Katima Mulilo based football club Kingfisher, is toping tall at the standings of the Bidvest Cup fixtures for Caprivi.
Caprivi Vision SPORT caught up with Caprivi Soccer League’s Chief Sports Organiser Mr.Moris Busungu to shed more light on how the games went about.
Mr. Busungu explained that Kingfisher F.C were victorious after they had beaten local rivals, the Katima Wanderers 2-1 in the finals.
The first round of the fixtures took place from 26– 27 January 2013 at the Katima Mulilo Sport Complex.
The first game was between Kingfisher and Black Buffaloes with Kingfisher winning by 4 goals to Black Buffaloes by (1) one.
In the other games Katima Wanderers F.C defeated Power Dynamos (5-4) on penalties, While Space Age lost to Rocanno King Rangers (4-5) on penalties, Green Eagles beat Real Cheetahs 2-0, Black Hawks thrashed Bush Bucks (4-1), while in the other game, Red Warriors were un able to overcome Blue Chiefs with a (1-3) loss.
In the 2nd round of the tournament, Rocano King Rangers beat Green Eagles 5-2 to advance to the 3rd round, while Black Hawks hammered Blue Chiefs (4 -1) to also proceed to the 3rd round.In the 3rd round Katima Wanderers defeated Rocano King Rangers 5- 4 on penalties after they ended 2- 2 all in normal play time, this saw Katima Wanderers proceed to the finals were they would meet and loose to eventual winners, Kingfisher after they had beaten Black Hawks 1 nil in the other third round game.
