Katima Regional Court acquits man for motor theft

Robert Shamukuni Kabende 33,  a Namibian male was arrested on January 11, 2014 in Katima Mulilo charged with count one, theft of motor vehicle read with the provision of act 12 of 1999 as amended and count two of fraud.

Kabende pleaded not guilty to both charges, His first appearance before the Katima Mulilo regional court magistrate was on 20 November 2016 after his conviction in the lower court.

On 11th May 2017 the regional court magistrate Mr. Mbongani Ndlovu found Kabende not guilty to all charges he was facing and was acquitted and allowed to carry on driving his brother in-law’s truck.
Mr. George Matali prosecuted the accused and Kabende was represented by Mr. Sunday Muhinda from legal aid.
