Katima fugitives still on Run

FIVE of the twelve escapes who break out the Katima Mulilo police cell on July 31 , 2007 are still at large.

The twelve trial awaiting prisoners allegedly forced to open the door of their cell.

Prisoners escaped the police cells in a breakthrough move, this included Sinvula Tawana, Kaonde Namushi, Martin Situmbeko, Matengu Sitali, Moses Tawila, Joba Walter, Sabo Mike, Nyambe Simasiku, Mahela Milupi, Moya Mazibelu, Mayumbelo Evans and Muzembela Francis.

Nampol warrant Shikwambi Kauna of the Public Relations division at the Police headquarters in Windhoek confi rmed that among the escapes eight are Namibian nationals and four are Zambians.

Seven (7) escapes were rearrested on the same day they break out.

The trial awaiting prisoners who escaped were convicted of crimes involving robbery, unlawful possession of fire arm, rape, stock theft, house breaking, assault gbh, theft and illegal crossing.

The Police is requesting the public to give information of the six alleged suspects who are still at large to contact the nearest police station.
