Three (3) flood affected schools in the eastern Zambezi are expected to move to higher grounds.
The Office of the Prime Minister announced on Sunday. The decision to move happened after a stakeholder engagement. The Office of the Prime Minister led this engagement in the Zambezi Region last week.
The affected schools are Nankutwe, Mpukano, and Muzii in the Kabbe South Constituency. These schools were forced to close due to flooding. They will be relocated on Monday.
“Affected learners will now be accommodated at Schuckmansburg Combined School in the Luhonono area, as well as Lusese Combined School.” statement said.
The intervention to move learners is aimed at ensuring that learners resume normal academic activities without further delay.
Yet, plans are underway to introduce holiday classes to help recover the two to three weeks of lost teaching time.
