Namibian Police in Zambezi Region are hunting for five (5) inmates who escaped from Ngoma Police Cells on Sunday night, August 10 at around 22h00, by cutting through the facility’s iron roof.
During the breakout, about seven (7) escapees were identified as: Francisco Xiaver (27) Angolan, Sinyinda Mulyokela (20) Zambian, Yambwa Chester (34) Namibian, Lisho James (35) Zambian, Mubita Monga (23) Zambian, Sililo Nyambe (53) Zambian and Mwiya Vincent (38) Zambian.
Chief Inspector and Police Spokesperson in Zambezi, Mr. Kisco Sitali confirmed that among them, two fugitives have since been re-arrested, leaving five still at large.
“We are working together with members of the public and all our units in the eastern part of the region, supported by the Regional Operation Support, to track down these escapees,” he said.
Given that five of the fugitives are Zambian nationals, police have also alerted their Zambian counterparts amid fears they could cross the border. Police Stations in Ngoma, Impalila, Luhonono and Kalimbeza remain on high alert, while community members are urged to remain vigilant.

The Namibian Police is calling for public cooperation to ensure the remaining fugitives are swiftly captured and brought to justice.
