Caprivi Music awards for December 7

The first- ever Caprivi Music awards music markers competition is set to take place in Katima Mulilo on December 7, 2012.

Mr. Joseph Katoti one of the founding event organisers told Caprivi VisionEntertainment  Desk that there are 23 categories in which artists can take part in the competition.

He  said , terms and conditions for entering in the awards is a non refundable fee of N$275 for registration at gamma record office in Katima Mulilo.

The  categories consists of the , Best Gospel, Best Dance Group, Best Accapella, Best House, Best House Kwasa, Best Disco, Best Rumba Disco, Best instrumental, Best cultural group, Best afro pop, Best Hip Hop, Best Ragger, Best Dance Hall, Best Sungura, Best Kwasa, Best Kwaito, Best RnB, Best Producer of the year, Best song of the year, Best Male artist, Best Female artist and Best Kizomba.

“in order for an artist to be nominated, they must hand in a copy of a Cd that includes the title of the songs they wish to enter the awards with”, he added.

According to him , artists are strictly not allowed to use songs that contains strong language and to use two different names when entering the awards.

All nominated songs will be played on air according to their categories and all registration  forms must be handed in as from the 30th of October to November 19 2012 when entries will closed.

“Voting will be announced on radio”, he said.

He urged all local artists based in the Caprivi region to take part in the first-ever event in getting more exposure.

“People will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite artist by sending short text messages (smses)  through the NBC Lozi service.

We are appealing to our business men and women to land a helping hand in this event as it is all ours” noted Mr. Katoti, who also further added that, they have  encouraged the Sipelu group to enter as well. For more information on the awards contact 0818191468
