THE Namibian Police Force has confirmed that all seven inmates , who escaped from Ngoma Police Holding Cells on August 10, 2025 have been re-arrested.
According to Chief Inspector Kisco Sitali, the last four fugitives were apprehended early Sunday morning at the intersection of Brendan Simbwaye and Ngoma Road after boarding a taxi from Libula village heading to Katima Mulilo town. Their arrest comes exactly one week after the dramatic prison break.
The suspects, all of whom are facing charges of escaping from lawful custody and malicious damage to property, were taken into custody without any injuries.
Police authorities have extended their gratitude to the public for their role in the successful manhunt. “We thank members of the public for their support during the search and for sharing information that helped us track down the suspects,” said Chief Inspector Sitali.
With all seven back behind bars, the Namibian Police Force has concluded the week-long search operation and assured the public of continued vigilance in maintaining law and order.
