4 years for Motor Vehicle Theft

Mr. Fritz Mondlane Nghiishililwa aged 31 years, was sentenced to a four year imprisonment after he was found guilty on charges of theft of a motor vehicle and use of Motor Vehicle without the owner`s consent by the Katima Mulilo Regional Court .

Nghiishililwa was slapped with an effective 6 years imprisonment – case no: 36/2011- of which two years was suspended on condition he is not found guilty or charged with a similar matter.

On 25 June 2010,Nghiishililwa was nabbed after he was implicated to have unlawfully and intentionally stole a Toyota Tazz with a registration number N 2335 KM, a vehicle belonging to Ms. Lisulo Memory Zita.

Nghiishililwa, who conducted his own defence throughout the whole trial, was apprehended in Windhoek and has been in custody since then when he was sentenced on June 20.

The regional Court further charged Nghiishililwa for the use of motor vehicle without the owner`s consent, on which he was found guilty and sentenced to a six years prison term of five years on condition that he is not convicted of theft or driving.
The state was represented by Public Prosecutor Ms. Esther Jafet.
