A-52-years Namibian male was effectively sentenced to 20 years for killing a colleague by cutting his neck with a traditional home made knife.
The accused Lawrence Mubita Musupali of Sibuyu village in Masida area was nabbed by the Namibian police for unlawfully and intentionally killing the deceased Dusty Simwanza after a long quarrel at a bar near Kafulo village, Masida area.
The court ruled out verdict on the case RC 10/2014, CR Number 1301-2014 by regional court magistrate Mr. William Kasitomo while Mr. Jatiel Mundamburi represented the state as public prosecutor.
Meanwhile the accused Matebele Phip aged 30 a Zambian national from Sikombwa village, Kazungula in Zambia was sentenced to 17 years imprisonment for raping a woman.
He was nabbed by police on 13 June 2013 at Nakabolelwa, the accused did wrongfully and intentionally under coercive a sexual act with Filemona Simasiku Kahundu hereafter called the complainant by inserting his manhood into the private part of the complainant while applying physical force against the complainant while threatening to apply force against the complainant.
The accused Matebele entered Namibia illegally on 19 December 2012.
On November 13, 2014 the court ruled out the accused is sentenced 17 years imprisonment for rape with the intent to do grievous bodily harm to the complainant and illegally entering Namibia at any place other than the port of entry.
Presiding officer Mr. William Kasitomo laid a judgement while Mr. Jatiel Mundamburi represented the state. (Case RC 04 2014) CR Number 128/12/2012
