Sydney Makata Matemwa (19) was sentenced to an effective 16 years imprisonment after he was found guilty of raping a minor.
Katima Mulilo magistrate , was on January 15, 2013 charged Matemwa for being found guilty of forcibly having sexual intercourse with a minor (name withheld) on September 11 ,2012 at the village of Muyako.
Mr. Makata had committed the wrongful act when the victim had arrived in his house to drop a mobile device, He then proceeded to pull the victim by her hand and stripped her clothes off and forced the victim on a mattress where he proceeded to rape her and He promised her an amount of N$0.30.
Meanwhile another 19 year old man, Mr. Likando Sinvula was also found guilty on a charge of stock theft and was sentenced to 4 years.
It is understood that the accused Sinvula had stolen an Ox (valued at N$4500) belonging to Ms. Lukubwe Precious Masiliso. He was arrested on October 7 2012 and was convicted on December 4 of the same year.
