SWAPO vows to reclaim Sibbinda Constituency with Nkando

By Muyambango Ngumbele at Makusi

THE SWAPO Party has fielded a well-known businessman, Mr Matengu Nkando, as its Candidate for Sibbinda Constituency in the Regional Councils Elections slated for November 26.

Speaking at the rally held at Makusi Branch in Sibbinda District, Minister of Works and Transport, Hon. Veikko Nekundi, affirmed the victory of SWAPO in the Sibbinda Constituency on Saturday, the 8th of November at Makusi Village.

The confirmation was made when SWAPO held their mini-rally under the new and fresh candidate, Mr Nkando, commonly known as “Kuomboka”, who is eagerly waiting for an amazing victory in the Sibbinda contesting against six (6)other candidates, where four are political parties and two are independent.

The amused minister and man of action in the 8th administration of President Nandi Ndaitwah jokingly pointed out that “Before I came here… I passed by my uncle, who is a traditional healer, and he gave me a beautiful eye, so when I entered the Makusi branch, I saw in your bodies blue, red and green wonderful” Nekundi testified.

The minister reminded the SWAPO supporters and people of Makusi Village that they had entered the campaign period leading up to the elections, which were scheduled to take place on 26 November 2025. This meant that SWAPO must emerge victorious in Sibbinda Constituency.

He added that for the past five years, Sibbinda has been under the control of an opposition (IPC), and the Sibbinda residents have felt the absence of SWAPO. ” Now it is the time to reclaim the rightful place of SWAPO in Sibbinda Constituency, and this can only work if the people of Sibbinda work together, mobilise together and vote for SWAPO  together so that SWAPO emerge victorious” Nekundi said.

He went on saying that it’s everyone’s responsibility in Sibbinda to make sure that they go and cast their votes on that early morning of 26 November, and those who are married, as well as those in relationships, must kiss their partners and tell them to go and vote for SWAPO only. According to him, he believes that in SWAPO, there’s love, unity, and victory.

” Now the moment has come that the opposition must taste the medicine of their lies,” He said.

Nekundi justified that it is only SWAPO that can promise authentically and deliver at the same point, as he recalls that it has done justice earlier on the 19th of April 1960 when it ppledged to create an organisation called SWAPO, which would fight for the independence of Namibia under one umbrella of SWAPO and indeed have merged and liberated people of Namibia from the yoke of colonialism is in this fact that on the 21st of March 1990 this promise was delivered.

“It is only SWAPO that has broken the barrier between men and women. That’s why today Namibia has a female president and also a female regional governor in the Zambezi region, where Sibbinda Constituency is situated.” He stressed.

Upon conclusions, he called the Sibbinda Constituency candidate, Mr Nkando on the stage, He spoke to him, saying once elected as a councillor, he must treat each and everyone in his constituency equally instead of bringing family issues or differences at home in the office because people nowadays do not vote for a party anymore but they vote for a person’s character and behaviour.

“Your responsibility is to coordinate and fight against poverty, creating jobs in the Sibbinda Constituency” he justified.

He further warned that a leader or a title of being a “Councillor or being called an honourable” is not a suit to wear but to work hard for the people of the constituency.
