Mr.Vinea Simataa Sinalumbu, commonly known as “Sha Chaze “

Caprivi Vision Entertainment desk asked him what he has done.

Where were you born and raised by whom?
I was born in Katima Mulilo and raised by both my parents, but while at Primary school I stayed at the Village at Muyako with my grandmother who I would say played the most important part of my growing.

When were you born?
I was born on 12 February 1986

Your official names?
Vinea Simataa Sinalumbu

Where did you attend your schooling?
Shuuh, I attended many schools, about 5 schools in my life. Muyako primary, Mahundu Primary, Lizauli Primary, Mavuluma Secondary and Sanjo Senior secondary.

What are you doing for the living?
I currently work for government where I am a Senior Economist.

Tell us more about your Music Career, where your love and inspiration comes from?
I was not really inspired by anyone, but I would say I grew up listening to Sungura music from Zimbabwe, and around 2003 when Namibian Music started growing I found myself loving The Dogg’s music. But all in all I have always been a person who loves good music, anything from Kwaito to Disco and even Hip hop. So for that I would not say I have specific role model or inspiration that’s why you even realise that my album is a complete mixture that has House music, Kwaito, a bit of Gospel and even Afro pop which has more of Zambian style of influence.

What type of music do you do?
As I just mentioned I do any type of music but mainly House music, and Afro pop but the Afro pop I do has more of Zambian influence especially track 4 titled Ima, Track 6 titled Vezi Kuzana and even Track 11 saying Chivalisesa.

Who inspired you?
No inspiration at all, although 30% of my influence came from The Dogg who I love for the heavy beats he does. I don’t believe so much in soft music.

Who is your producer?
I worked with about 7 producers in my album, they include King Brunoo, Zallu Bee, DJ Vuyo from Katima, Lil Saint, Slim, Sean Blizzy and Nasho. But the overall producer was King Bruno who I would say produced about 9 tracks out of
16. The reason I worked with many producers was to have a complete mix, in other words I wanted to fuse in different styles of music. And that I have to say worked perfectly well for me because from all the people who have bought the album, many call me to say that they are impressed and are mentioning different tracks as their favourites. So im confident there is no single person who will say he or she doesn’t have a favourite in the album as it accommodates all different age groups.

Why are you doing music?
I mainly do music just for the love of it, and as I said that I have a full time job that takes 70% of my time, so I only do music in weekends and sometimes late at night. But music is good, it occupies you, keeps you happy, you express yourself and even make other people happy at the same time. Not to forget that you can make good income out of music. In my first album I didn’t do much promotion, but i made good sales.

We have seen that you released your first Album, when was it launched and why is it called I’m a Caprivian?
It was launched in July in Rundu. I am a Caprivian is an album talking more about the Caprivian culture, the good things of growing up in Caprivi. In the album am talking about the concrete culture of Caprivians, am talking about the region and even about the fact that Caprivian people believe so much in education than anything else. Unfortunately there are those people who thought the album was about politics and that perhaps I’m objecting to the name change. Which is unfortunate of them to think of politics every time they see something. But those who bought the album know for sure that there is no politics in it. In fact I’m just praising our Region. After all I’m not a politician. I’m just introducing myself to the world and confirming my pride and my history.

What are some of the songs on the Album?
Chini vola talking about a man tired of marriage and says he is going back, Nvula Soke a song that is begging for the rain since of recent we have been suffering from the drought, Dear God asking God for forgiveness and many others.

Your Future Plans?
I will surely release my second album in a space of 2 years since my first album impressed many people. Up to now many unknown people still call me to congratulate me about my album. Therefore even though I am not doing music full time I will surely make sure I release some songs to maintain the happiness I have brought on people.

Your Hobbies?
Nothing much apart from recording and listening to any good music. But I like reading news about current affairs.

Your favourite food?

Of course Inkoko, (thick porridge ) how many Caprivians don’t like it???
