THE University of Namibia has announced the death of Professor Bennett Kangumu who passed away on September 24, 2024.
Late Prof. Kangumu was a cherished leader and former Campus Director of Katima Mulilo Campus, and has since joined the University of Namibia in 2011.
“His tireless efforts, wisdom, and dedication left a lasting impact on the lives of many in our community” quoted the announcement.
However, UNAM Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Kenneth Matengu expressed his heartfelt condolences on behalf of the entire University community that “His leadership, wisdom and strategic vision will be greatly missed. Prof. Kangumu’s tireless efforts and dedication profoundly impacted the lives of many students and staff, both current and past, at the Katima Mulilo Campus.”
He added that “Prof. Kangumu was a thorough researcher and educator of note. Therefore, this is a significant loss to our University, and Prof. Kangumu will be deeply missed by the entire community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, children, family, friends and mentees.”
