Former SA Deputy President Mabuza dies at 64

FORMER South African Deputy President, David Mabuza, a senior figure in the African National Congress (ANC), has died aged 64.

He served as deputy president of South Africa from 2018 to 2023. He led the ruling African National Congress (ANC) from 2017 to 2022.

He is the former teacher, He was nicknamed as ‘The Cat,’

Mabuza’s political inclination in 2017 helped much Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa to get his ANC ‘s leadership .

DW Africa reported that late Mabuza he was in control of the Mpumalanga province from 2009 to 2018, where allegations of corruption and irregular tenders related to the 2010 World Cup blemished his reputation.

By 2023 he had largely withdrawn from public life, reappearing briefly to campaign during the 2024 elections. His death was reported to have occurred in hospital, though the cause was not disclosed.
