Zambezi Institutions Unite for Regional Cleaning Campaign

By Johani Johani

The cleaning campaign in the Zambezi Region took place on Friday, led by all seven (7) institutions of higher learning under the theme “My Presence, My Responsibility.”

Students gathered at the Zambezi Regional Council, where the cleaning began before spreading to different parts of Katima Mulilo town.

The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness and environmental responsibility among students and residents. It also encouraged collective participation in maintaining a clean and healthy environment across the region.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Simasiku Mwanangombe, a warden for environmental education in the Zambezi Region, emphasized the importance of keeping towns and regions clean.

“We should acknowledge that the Zambezi Region and Katima Mulilo are gateways to Africa. Once we clean our region, it will attract tourists and help build a healthy nation within a conducive environment,” he said.

The campaign concluded with a call for continued cooperation among institutions and community members to ensure that the Zambezi Region remains clean and welcoming for both locals and visitors.
