The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in partnership with the University of Oxford, announced the launch of a free online course on 10 November 2025 to help global participants understand AI ethics, human rights, and digital transformation.
Ms. Eunice Smith, Head Of Office And Unesco Representative to Namibia in Windhoek expressed invitation auder the title that “Invitation to Join Free UNESCO–Oxford Course on AI and Digital Transformation in Government and Launch of AI Tools Radar.”
The course, titled “AI and Digital Transformation in Government,” explores topics such as data governance, leadership for digital change, inclusive service design, and generative AI tools.
Participants will earn a joint certificate from UNESCO and Oxford upon completion.
Additionally, UNESCO’s International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI) launched the AI Tools Radar, a multilingual repository featuring over 200 curated AI tools aimed at supporting public institutions, media, and the judiciary in adopting AI responsibly.
These initiatives strengthen UNESCO’s mission to promote ethical, inclusive, and sustainable use of AI while addressing challenges like bias, misinformation, and misuse of technology.
Through the Oxford course and AI Tools Radar, UNESCO continues to empower governments and societies to harness artificial intelligence responsibly for human rights, inclusivity, and sustainable development.
