Zambezi to host Namibia’s Independence Day Celebration

Zambezi Region will host the 34th Independence Day anniversary celebration of Namibia  to be held in Katima Mulilo on Thursday March 21, 2024.  

This year’s celebration is featured under the theme “A People United for Prosperity”.

This was recently announced by Dr. Audrin Mathe, Executive Director of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology.

At the occasion , Namibian President Dr. Nangolo Mbumba will be the main speaker who will address the nation.

“ as preparations unfold for this year’s celebration the Government  extends an invitation to Namibians from all corners of the country to  join  together in commemorating  the selfless acts of sacrifice that paved the way  for our freedom” explained Dr.Mathe.   

According to him, he noted that Independence Day celebrations  have been rotated among  the 14 regions  of Namibia, as last year (2023) it was held in Outapi in Omusati Region.

“ this year marks the first time that the Zambezi region  will host this  significant anniversary”

The public is anticipated to participate  and entertained through a diversified cultural performances ,  musical acts and entertainment activities.

However, the event will be broadcasted live by NBC TV and Radio Services across the country , and  with Live-streams on different social media platforms for those who will be unable to attend the event.
