Zambezi region has recorded ten (10) deaths caused by a deadly pandemic called Coronavirus (COVID – 19) , since March 2020 during the first stage of the lock down.

Caprivi Vision has established from Zambezi Governor Lawrence Sampofu that , Zambezi recorded 82 positive cases in a period of six months from March to September 2020 , and the number rose to 7000 cases when people from other regions and neighbouring countries came for Christmas holiday.
From November 2020 to March 2021 when the cases increased above 7000 ten (10) deaths were recorded in the region.
Governor Sampofu is worried about cases that are increasing and is of the opinion that people are not respecting the laws of Corona virus.
“This virus does move on its own ,but its moved by us people …so what we can do is to sanitise and put on masks because those are the only weapons to fight against this corona virus” He advised.
Zambezi Governor mentioned that about 32 positive cases are now currently in the region and 12 people are quarantined.
He cautioned residents of the region not to move around between 22H00 to 04H00 in the morning as they are not allowed to do so country wide.
Sampofu repeated appealing to the people to respect laws of COVID -19 from protocols of the disease as stipulated by the Ministry of Health and Social Services.
“We really appeal to our people to stay at home especially in this period when people are not allowed to move around” he concluded.
