THE National Democratic Party (NDP) has launched its election manifesto for the upcoming Presidential and National Assembly Elections slated for November 27, 2024.
Speaking during the launch held in Windhoek on Sunday, NDP National President, Mr. Martin Lukato Lukato assured the Namibian voters that his party’s manifesto is a collection of policies and dreams aimed at addressing the social and economic fabrics of the Namibian people irrespective of their background.
“our unyielding commitment to justice, and our unwavering resolve to build
a future that works for everyone. It is a reflection of our values, our aspirations, and our dedication to serving the needs of our people.
First and foremost, our manifesto is founded on the principle of inclusivity and fairness. We believe in a society where every individual, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive” Lukato stressed.
NDP is committed to invest in education, improve access to healthcare, and create economic opportunities for all Namibians as its first commitment.
“ We are committed to ensuring that everyone has a fair chance to succeed and contribute to our collective prosperity”.
Once elected into power , NDP government will priorities the sustainable development in Namibia in order to respond to the pressing issues of climate change and environmental degradation.
“Our manifesto outlines ambitious plans to transition to renewable energy, promote sustainable practices, and protect our natural resources. We are determined to create a greener, more resilient economy that will benefit future generations” Lukato promised.
“We pledge to uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability in our governance. Trust in public institutions is vital, and we will work tirelessly to restore and maintain it. We will ensure that our government operates with openness, integrity, and responsiveness. Accountability will be at the core of everything we do, as we believe that a transparent government is a government that truly serves its people.”
Lukato added that a thriving economy is essential for a thriving society. This is however planned to make investments in infrastructure, support for innovation and small businesses, and measures to foster job creation.
“We are committed to building an economy that is strong, inclusive, and capable of meeting the needs of all our citizens.”
NDP is also dedicated to advancing social justice and equality. “Our manifesto addresses systemic inequalities and outlines steps to ensure that every individual is treated with dignity and respect. We will reform our justice system, address
differences, and work to build a more reasonable society where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
This manifesto is the conclusion of countless hours of hard work, consultation, and collaboration. It reflects our party’s values and our vision for a brighter, more equitable future. It is both a call to action and a commitment to lead with integrity
and purpose.”
He further called upon his party loyalist members to submit their names to the NDP Vice President and Secretary General , to stand a chance to be elected at the NDP electoral college on 26 September 2024.
