Nampol nabs 6 members of Caprivi Concerned Group

NAMIBIAN Police in Zambezi region has nabbed 6 members of the Caprivi Concerned Group (CCG) on Sunday morning at Liselo Area some 10 kilometers away the town of Katima Mulilo.

Spokesperson of the Namibian Police in Zambezi Chief Inspector Kisco Sitali confirmed to Caprivi Vision on Monday that the accused suspects ranging from 32 to 44 years were arrested and charged with three (3) counts of Conspiring to commit high treason, incitement to public violence and  obstructing police officers in the execution of their duties.

The case has been opened against them CR 54/07/2018.

According to him the charges may increase or reduce depending on the outcome of the investigation.

He further advices the community to refrain from the idea of secession and he warned that “we also realized that they are people hiding behind the human rights groups while they are advocating for other agendas, so our people must be vigilant enough they might be used by people who are having their own agendas which the public they might not be aware of”

The accused Caprivi concerned human rights activists will appear before the Katima Mulilo magistrate’s court tomorrow.
