Is Easter Celebrated in the approved manner?

Easter is a Christian festival which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The bible says Christ died on the cross on Good Friday and resurrected three days later, Luke 24.

Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?He is not here, but is risen.

The New Testament states that the resurrection of Jesus, which Easter celebrates, is a foundation of Christian faith. The resurrection established Jesus as the powerful son of God and is cited as proof that god will judge the world in righteousness.

As Christians we celebrate this in memory of Jesus Christ and freeing us from sin. Easter brings us close to our Lord. It reminds us about how Jesus was crucified to die for our sins so that we may be free from sin. It reminds us about the love Jesus has for us because he went through excruciating pain for all humanity.

But in today’s world it is quite sad that we do not honor this celebration because we dent to do ungodly activities during this celebration. Activities such drinking and driving which causes lots of accidents and death, stealing from others, killing and raping innocent people just to mention a few. It is such a huge disappointment that we do not respect and honor the death of Jesus Christ who freed us from sin, instead we sin more during this time.

As Christians it is important for us to remind ourselves that Jesus is our savior and we should respect and love him as he loved us. We should do away with the wrong doings that push us away from God but be strong in prayer and have faith and strength. Judgment day is yet to come so let us be strong in prayer and conquer the devil.
